What Happened in Chainsaw Man 186?
Fujimoto spent all of Part 2 hyping up the Death Devil, but now the big fight in this arc is with the Aging Devil, who has a contract with the Public Safety members.
To “evolve” humanity, they agreed to kill 10,000 Japanese kids, and in return, the Aging Devil would let Chainsaw Man eat him to erase the concept of aging from the world.
He did try to convince Pochita first but he declined so he tried this with Denji but he also declined the offer.
Chainsaw Man Headed Towards Public Safety
The Aging Devil knows Chainsaw Man isn’t coming to eat him but to kill him. Panicking, he offers a desperate contract to the nearby Public Safety members.
He promises to spare them from Chainsaw Man’s wrath if they let him use their bodies as weapons. Desperate to survive, the members agree, not realizing what they’ve signed up for.
The Aging Devil wastes no time. He starts by sacrificing their nails, using them to slice Pochita clean in half. He even claims he’ll force-feed himself to Chainsaw Man.
Fumiko, bleeding and in pain, urges him to go ahead, saying, “Don’t worry about us.” She believes this will fulfill the Prophecy of Nostradamus and ensure humanity’s survival by removing aging.
The fight gets brutal. The Aging Devil sacrifices Fumiko’s liver next, making Pochita lose his head again. Meanwhile, Denji is stuck in the Aging World, chowing down on human trees like it’s an all-you-can-eat BBQ, regenerating Pochita in the process.
Things hit a climax when the Aging Devil takes another member’s eyes and slices Pochita’s head off again. This time, instead of just regenerating, Pochita rips open his own chest and launches his entire body straight at the Aging Devil. This is one of those rare, all-or-nothing moves from Chainsaw Man
Chainsaw Man Chapter 187 sets the stage for the ultimate showdown between the Primal Devil and Chainsaw Man.
