Hana Kurusu’s Jacob’s Ladder is one of the most iconic and powerful cursed techniques in Jujutsu Kaisen.
It’s a divine, light-based AOE attack that Hana channels through the Angel’s power. Hana shares her body with Angel, who is also a sorcerer from the Heian Era just like Sukuna.
Hana blows a trumpet-like signal, and a massive beam of light strikes down from above, targeting the enemy with incredible force.
The light is strong enough to purify curses, making it particularly dangerous to cursed spirits or anyone bound by cursed energy, like Sukuna.
Is Jacob’s Ladder Strong Enough To Kill Sukuna?
We first saw Jacob’s Ladder during Hana’s fight against Sukuna. At that moment, she almost killed him by using this technique.
Sukuna, realizing how lethal it was, had to manipulate Angel into stopping the attack to save himself.

He used Megumi’s voice so that Angel would stop and then he destroyed her arm and wings. At that time, Jacob’s Ladder was strong enough to kill even the King of Curses but Megumi would have been dead too.
The technique is described as a divine punishment, and its destructive capabilities are off the charts.
Jacob’s Ladder Second Time
In JJK 263, we saw Hana use Jacob’s Ladder again during a critical moment in the fight against Sukuna. This time, it was a well-coordinated plan with Yuta, Yuji, and Todo.
Yuta weakened Sukuna with a combination of attacks, and Yuji used multiple dismantling strikes to destabilize the barrier binding Sukuna and Megumi’s souls.
Hana’s role was the final blow, using Jacob’s Ladder at its maximum output. Despite her injuries from the earlier battle, she gave it her all but this time around the goal was not to kill Sukuna, but to separate Megumi from Sukuna.
Unfortunately, even with Jacob’s Ladder at full power, Sukuna managed to survive. He leaped through the light and nearly killed Hana, but Todo saved her just in time.
